Parking System Flexibility Further Enhanced with
Introduction of Pocket PC Devices
04.12.02
Flexibility is a
major advantage of the Arthur D Riley & Co Ltd (ADR)
TicketOr system.
Manukau City Council (MCC)
has been a satisfied user of the TicketOr system
since April 1998, using Epson EHT handhelds.
Upgrading to the new Casio IT70 handheld and O’Neil
2T printer has enabled MCC to offer improved
services to their clients.
Since the installation of TicketOr, MCC have been
working with ADR to customize their system,
constantly seeking ways to improve their collection
rate and services.
New Zealand Post
Barcode
Payment for
Infringement Notices can now be made at NZ Post
shops throughout New Zealand using a barcode
printed on the Infringement Notice. The issuing
Authority is identified in the barcode and a Modulus
11 check digit in the ticket number ensures data
integrity. The barcode contains all relevant
information pertaining to the Infringement Notice.
Also a “smart date” is incorporated into the barcode
giving a final date for NZ Post to accept payment.
This eliminates the possibility of accepting payment
for a ticket already lodged in the Court system.
Time To Pay (TTP)
TicketOr now offers a
fully comprehensive TTP system, including all
correspondence, set up and record keeping for
individual arrangements. A unique Personal
Identification Number (PID) enables multiple tickets
to be linked to one person and TicketOr manages
payments for multiple tickets ensuring the option
remains to lodge in Court if necessary. Extensive
reporting ensures defaults in payment or
overpayments are acted upon in a timely fashion.
The TTP concept is not
new to New Zealand but Local Authorities using other
Infringement Management systems do not have the
flexibility to be able to offer this facility,
TicketOr has. The many advantages to MCC include a
vastly improved collection rate, less time spent by
Administration staff on debt recovery and
considerable savings in Court lodgment fees.
MCC have been delighted with the
results of this project and are already looking
towards working with ADR on further enhancements in
the future.
