New
polyphase meter offers the best of both worlds
06.03.03
The
new Landis & Gyr ZMD120AS Dialog meter has now been
released by Landis & Gyr Metering, and combines the
simplicity and reliability usually only found in a
Ferraris
meter with the most commonly requested features for
a simple low-end electronic meter. The meter is
designed for direct connection at up to 100A, and
has 9.5mm terminals able to take 35mm2 cables.
Simple and uncomplicated handling procedures mean
the meter has the lowest possible installation,
maintenance and operating costs. All meter
parameters are set in the factory and no subsequent
programming is required.
Display indicators show the presence of phase
voltages, phase sequence and energy direction,
together with a bar graph showing approximate power.
This allows the instant diagnosis and rectification
of installation wiring errors. A solid-state pulse
output is standard.
The meter is built from the ground up with
reliability in mind, and offers an extended
temperature range of -40ºC to +60ºC and a lightning
impulse rating of 12kV. It can operate on a single
phase only when necessary, and the measuring
elements are completely independent.
In
the event that the meter needs to be read in
situations where the power is turned off, a solar
cell is optionally available. This unique feature
(patent pending) provides enough power even at low
light levels to operate the LCD and display
electronics. The beam from a torch is more than
sufficient to activate the display should the meter
be in complete darkness.
The meter uses the extremely reliable Landis & Gyr
DFS measurement technology, which has been field
proven in over two million meters. A high frequency
test LED and a special test mode for register
testing allows meter test times to be drastically
reduced.
