Android Developer

Since 1909 ADR has helped keep communities and businesses running with utility technology products, services and expertise.

We work with energy utilities, water authorities, local authorities, manufacturing, and other businesses, as well as farming and the agriculture sectors.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Insights Team.

As an Android developer in our development team, you’ll create system features that help the business and customers and clients do their jobs more efficiently, more effectively, and better than the competition. You will be accountable for the development of high-quality software that hits the mark for what customers need and working with your team to improve the development process.

Ideally, you will:


  • Relevant qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
  • Good Java knowledge, including writing and publishing complex native apps in Android Studio. Knowledge of the Kotlin language would be advantageous.
  • Good iOS and/or Android software architecture experience, writing and publishing apps using objective C within xcode. Knowledge of the Swift language would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and webservice interactions
  • Experience working with databases and SQL

Sales and Development Manager - ADRInsights

The Sales and Development Manager – ADRInsights, will lead a team to develop and support ADR’s growing range of software products and services across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands.

 This role is perfect for someone wanting to be part of a company with a diverse culture and where people come first. If you thrive on challenges and want to be part of the Senior Management Team in a growing company and have the willingness to "pitch in" when necessary, this role is for you.

You will be liaising with clients and bringing new clients onboard and participating in projects across the company therefore strong organisational, relationship and leadership skills are a must, as you will be bringing our people along for the journey.

 Some of your responsibilities would be, but are not limited to:

  • Promote and develop the companies’ portfolio and SaaS offerings
  • Quality leadership and mentoring across Development, Support and R&D service’s
  • Drive sales cycles and manage sales revenue

IoT Field Technician

Since 1909 Arthur D. Riley & Co Ltd, a NZ Owned Company, has helped communities and businesses with the running of utility technology products, services and expertise. 

You will be responsible for the delivery, installation and testing of software and hardware IoT devices across the Dunedin Region. In addition you will liaise with customers and suppliers providing resolution and support services.

To be successful in this role you would ideally have:

  • The ability to conduct testing and repairs.
  • Trade / Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Knowledge of Metering, data logging and associated communications (IoT) an advantage.
  • Computer knowledge to support competency with field engineering products, and modern commercial practices.
  • A full class 1 driver’s license.
  • Happy to work outdoors – this is not a desk job.
  • A can do attitude - Happy to work alone, and as part of a team.
  • Highly organised, intuitive and efficient, with a sense of humour and a great team player.

Meter Readers

Meter Reading Services is a division of Arthur D Riley, which is a kiwi based/owned company operating since 1909. We read Power, Water and Gas meters for local retailers throughout New Zealand.

Our Northern team are seeking a standout Meter Readers across Auckland to join us on a permanent basis
